Affordable vehicle / Best sedan: Tesla Model 3

There is one reason why this car is the most popular EV in America (as of 2019), and that is because it delivers luxury and practicality, while still costing less than a BMW 3 series. There are multiple models that you can choose from when buying the Model 3, and all of them are affordable relative to what it offers. The most expensive Model 3 costs only $54,000, while cars with similar performance, like the Mercedes C63s, costs around 75,000 dollars. Keep in mind that the Model 3 has more trunk space and a better 0-60 time (3.2 seconds) than the Merc.
Best SUV: Tie: Audi E Tron, Tesla Model X
The Audi E Tron has a range that is inferior to that of a Tesla Model X (Audi: 225, Tesla: 305), but it makes up for it in sheer luxury and beautiful design. The Audi E Tron begins at 65,000 but for the same price as a Tesla Model X, you can get massage functions and memory seats. Not only that but the Audi takes only 10 hours to charge at 225 volts while the Tesla Model X takes 12 hours.
While the Tesla loses when it comes to price, luxury, and design, it makes up for it in practicality and option breadth. If you are looking for a SUV that can hold a family, set a quarter-mile time in under 11 seconds, and has a myriad of boot space, then look no further. The Tesla can do 0-60 in under 3 seconds, has up to 7 seats (depends on configuration), and about 96 cubic feet of storage space with the rear seats down.
Best Performance EV: Porsche Taycan
Possibly the most futuristic-looking family car of the decade, the Porsche Taycan is a 6 figure, track day beast. It comes with three trims, the 4S, the Turbo, and the Turbo S. They cost $104,000, $151,000, and $185,000, respectively. However, if you are looking for an electric race car for the road, the Taycan Turbo S is your best bet. It has 750 horsepower and can do 0-60 in 2.4 seconds. This car also set the lap record for the fastest electric sedan around the Nürburgring. The performance was a priority when building this car, but that does not mean that luxury was compromised. The Taycan is indubitably the most luxurious electric car on this list.
